Don't miss your chance to vote - register now

With EU reforms high on the national agenda, Moorlands residents are being reminded that they need to be registered if they want to have their say in the forthcoming referendum.

Elections are also being held on 5 May to choose a Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire and anyone eligible who wants to vote needs to be registered by Monday 18 April.

It takes just minutes to register online - you'll just need your National Insurance number to hand if you have one.

Chairman of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Councillor David Shaw, said: "Being registered to vote matters because if you aren't you'll miss out on the chance to have your say on issues that will affect your day-to-day life.

"It's quick and easy to register - you just need to complete a short online form. Those who have already registered can help by spreading the word about how easy it is and encourage families and friends to do so."

Young people, students and people who move frequently are much less likely to be registered to vote so the sharing the message about the need to register is as important as ever.
