Free parking top of Moorlands Christmas list

With November now upon us Christmas preparations are beginning in earnest and once again the local council is giving Moorlands shoppers and visitors the gift of free parking.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has agreed to provide free off-street parking in its car parks in Biddulph, Cheadle and Leek to encourage people to buy their festive gifts and goodies locally.

In Biddulph drivers can park for free on 25 November and 1, 2, 9 and 16 December; in Cheadle parking is free on 25 November and 9, 16 and 23 December; and in Leek the dates are 25 November and 2, 9, 16 and 23 December.

Council Leader and portfolio holder for regeneration, Councillor Sybil Ralphs, said: "The Moorlands towns are great places to visit in the exciting pre-Christmas period so we're delighted to once again be able to support our local economies by offering free parking in the busy build-up to the big day.

"We've got a whole host of household names and quality independent retailers offering everything from perfect presents and gorgeous decorations through to the delicious food and drink that makes the season special.

"So this year please shop locally and help the make this festive season one to celebrate for all Moorlanders."

Drivers are asked to note that whilst parking is free on these dates all other car park regulations remain in place.
