The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has produced guidance to help you work safely (be COVID-secure) and manage the risk associated with running your business at this time. https://www.hse.gov.uk/news/working-safely-during-coronavirus-outbreak.htm

The HSE guidance includes practical measures you can take, for example putting in place social distancing measures, staggering shifts, providing additional handwashing facilities and how to talk with workers to help them stay safe.

Advice for food businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic

Following new Government restrictions placed on public houses, restaurants, cafes etc during the Coronavirus pandemic, you may be considering diversifying your food business to provide food from your normal menu or new dishes for delivery or takeaway. This guidance from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health will help ensure you trade safely.

To reduce social contact, the government has ordered some businesses and venues to close. Find out more on the governments website about which businesses need to remain closed.

The Food Standards Agency has produced a checklist to support food businesses to reopen safely during COVID-19 after a period of inaction.

Coronavirus Support for Sports Clubs

Small grants for businesses that are liable for business rates may be available to support some clubs in the Staffordshire Moorlands.  

Additional Support

  • Sport England Emergency Fund - This new fund aims to help community sport and physical activity organisations who are experiencing short term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis. This £20 million fund is designed to complement other sources of funding from the government, such as funds targeted at small businesses, so please do check the guidelines before you consider applying. 
  • Club Matters - provides lots of guidance for sports clubs through the current crisis. Templates and guidance include topics such as; emergency financial planning, securing your premises, understanding financial support available, running virtual meetings and making the most of social media channels are available.
