Make an appointment to see a Licensing Officer

Appointments are available to speak with our Licensing officers in person

The Council Offices remain closed for general enquiries, but where licence applicants need to attend the Council Offices for assistance with or submission of applications or to sit a knowledge test for example, then an appointment can be made to attend the Offices in person.

The Offices that are available for appointments are:

  • Buxton Town Hall, Market Place Buxton SK17 6EL and
  • Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek ST13 6HQ

Appointments only need to be made for the following types of licensing enquiries:

  • New Taxi Driver Licence Applications
  • New Private Hire Operator Licence Applications
  • Knowledge Tests
  • Assistance with Submission of Alcohol/Premises/Personal Licence application forms, documents and supporting paperwork
  • Assistance with Applications for street trading or street collection licences
  • Assistance with submission of Scrap Metal licences

Please make sure you have all the relevant application forms and documentation in place before you request an appointment. Guidance on what is required can be fouind on the licensing pages of our website.

All other licensing applications can be submitted by email to licensing-1@staffsmoorlands.gov.uk or by using the gov.uk portal in the case of alcohol licence submissions. Please see the relevant webpage for the type of application you are making in order to access the on-line application portal. Further information on the types of licence and the application processes  can be fouind on the licensing pages of our website.

Email submission also includes Taxi Driver Licence renewal applications, Operator Licence Renewal applications, and all applications for new vehicles or vehicle licence renewals.
