Wednesday Markets

Following a successful bid to the Government's Levelling Up Fund, we have been awarded £17.1m to regenerate Leek town centre.

Part of the funds are being used to carry out improvements to the Butter and Trestle markets.

Leek Butter Market

Leek Indoor, Outdoor and Butter Market - Every Wednesday

On Wednesday there are three locations to Leek's markets: Leek's traditional Wednesday outdoor market is well worth a visit enjoying over forty stalls, selling a wide variety including local food stalls, homewares and clothing. The stalls trail through the town centre mingling with the town's thriving high street complemented by the indoor Victorian Butter Market with 20 traditional traders including fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, a farm shop, home and garden accessories, gifts, ladies clothing and speciality stalls for those hard to find items. The 20th Century Trestle Market with up to 30 stalls including a  traditional sweet stall, seasonal flowers, jewellery, ladies and men's clothing and more seasonal stalls.

A delightful historic market town brimming with unusual architecture and fascinating history, Leek's unspoilt town centre is a relaxing change from modern shopping centres with a refreshing mix of unique independent speciality shops and boutiques, well known high street names, cafés, traditional pubs and craft ale bars. Perfectly placed for a relaxed break away exploring the town centre or for the more adventurous and active types taking on the challenging terrain of the Peak District National Park and the great opportunities for all kinds of outdoor activities we're sure you'll find something to your liking.
