Leek Retail Markets
Leek Markets have been at the heart of the towns shopping experience since the first Royal Market charter was issued by King John granting Ranulph de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, the right to hold a weekly Wednesday market and an annual seven-day fair in Leek in 1207.
Following a successful bid to the Government's Levelling Up Fund, we have been awarded £17.1m to regenerate Leek town centre.
Part of the funds are being used to carry out improvements to the Butter and Trestle markets.
* Please note that the Trestle and Butter market are currently closed for refurbishment. *

Fast forward another 800 years and the town's markets are still thriving
Located in the heart of the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, on the edge of the Peak District, Leek's Markets trade all year round.
Market days are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. On Wednesday Leek's Charter Market (established in 1207) hosts a variety of stalls throughout the town centre.
