Report abandoned vehicles
Find out what we class as an 'abandoned vehicle' and how to report one
We can investigate any abandoned vehicles that are not taxed.
What we mean by 'abandoned'
It is likely that a vehicle is abandoned if:
- it has no keeper on the DVLA's database and is untaxed
- it is stationary for a significant amount of time
- it is significantly damaged, run down or unroadworthy - with flat tyres, wheels removed or broken windows
- is burned out
- has number plates missing
Vehicles are not classed as 'abandoned' simply because they have been parked in the same place for a few days.
Vehicles on parking restrictions such as yellow lines should be reported to Staffordshire County Council., but other vehicles causing an obstruction should be reported to the Police directly.
How do I find out if a vehicle is taxed?
