Prospectus puts Leek firmly on investor's map

With a thriving high street and market, successful and expanding businesses, a skilled workforce and a college training the next generation of professionals, coupled with the availability of sites and a business-friendly Council, Leek has much to offer businesses and developers looking to invest in growth.

That's the message Staffordshire Moorlands District Council wants investors to hear - and has this week launched an investment prospectus to help tell that story by highlighting Leek's many advantages.

The document summaries the opportunities and the potential of the town, alongside the facts and figures developers require, in a single, easy to read document which is now available to download.

Council Leader, Councillor Sybil Ralphs, who also has responsibility for regeneration in the district, said: "The national focus is on delivering economic growth and market towns contribute a great deal to this national picture. Leek is ideally placed to offer developers and investors the right environment to support business growth - but is perhaps something of a hidden gem - so this is the ideal time for us to raise our profile with those who may not be familiar with this area.

"Through this prospectus we're going directly to the investor market to highlight the unique advantages we can offer businesses looking for a quality location with a skilled and reliable workforce right on the edge of some of the best countryside in the UK.

"There really has never been a better time to invest in Leek and that's the very clear message I want developers and investors to hear."

Council Chief Executive Simon Baker added: "Supporting business growth and jobs is a top priority for the Council - both to provide new opportunities for our residents and so that we can support the local economy and the wider supply chain.

"Leek has a fantastic story to tell. We've got a thriving town centre and we're in the top 20% of districts nationally for skill levels and business survival rates. Our investment prospectus brings together these important facts and figures in single document and is a valuable resource to stimulate investor interest."

As well as being available online, the guide was given to key contacts at MIPIM UK - the country's largest exhibition and conference for commercial property investors, agents and industry professionals - which took place this week.
