Discretionary reliefs introduced in 2017 which will remain in place in 2023/24

Relief and Exemptions

In 2017 the Chancellor introduced the following discretionary reliefs to be implemented for business ratepayers with effect from 1^st April 2017. These reliefs will remain in place in 2023/24

These reliefs are subject to state aid limits and it is important that you read the state aid rules.

Supporting Small Businesses

The supporting small businesses relief will help those ratepayers, who as a result of the change in their rateable value at the revaluation are losing some or all of their small business or rural rate relief and, as a result, are facing large increases in their bills
