Camping licence

Camping licence GOV.UK

If you allow your land to be used as a camping site by the public for more than 42 days consecutively - or 60 days in a year - you require a licence. There is no application fee for this licence.

Conditions may be attached to a licence. There are exceptions for organisations that hold camping exemption certificates.

When an application is made it will be deemed to be made unconditionally unless we give notice that the application is refused or conditions are attached. 

You will be able to act as though your application has been granted if you haven't heard from us by the end of the target completion date.

Caravan and camping site licence

To run a caravan and camping site you need a licence. The applicant must be entitled to use the land as a caravan site. There is no application fee for this licence.

Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013

Scrap metal dealer licence GOV.UK

To be a scrap metal dealer within the borough, you need to register with the council.

Eligibility criteria

A scrap metal dealer shall be classed as carrying on a business within the borough if any of the following apply:

  • The dealer occupies a place as a scrap metal store in the area
  • The dealer does not occupy a place as a scrap metal store but has a usual place of residence in the area
  • The dealer does not occupy a place as a scrap metal store but occupies a place for business purposes

Skin piercing / Tattooing / Electrolysis licence

If you offer tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring, cosmetic piercing, or electrolysis you must be registered as 'an individual'

If you work from premises, they must also be registered.

Body piercing on a young person under the age of 18 will require consent from their parent or legal guardian.
