Dementia Friendly Communities initiative

Dementia is an illness caused when parts of someone's brain stop working properly. The causes of this illness are not fully understood as yet.

There is no cure for dementia which gets more common with age. People who have dementia can often have a good quality of life for a number of years.

The Council has formally agreed to support the Dementia Friendly Communities initiative with the ambition that Staffordshire Moorlands becomes a Dementia Friendly Community.
