The Moorlands is renowned for its rural beauty and outdoor spaces and, as we say goodbye to 2020, that could be just the tonic we all need to improve our sense of wellbeing.
Spending time outdoors and being more physically active have a proven positive impact on our physical and mental health and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council is encouraging people to take advantage of what's on their doorsteps to boost their wellbeing.
Councillor Mark Deaville, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Leisure and Sports, said: "This year has been quite unlike any that most of us have ever experienced so, as we say goodbye to 2020 and look forward to the better days to come, it's more important than ever that we take the time to look after ourselves.
"We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country with plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy and we've all heard about the benefits to both our physical and mental wellbeing of spending time outdoors and being more active.
"So let's get make it a new year's resolution to get outdoors more, breathe in the Moorlands air and focus on the positive things we can do to give ourselves a boost. Take care of yourselves and others and stay safe."
