UK Shared Prosperity Fund

The primary goal of the UKSPF is to build pride in place and increase life chances across the UK.

The UK Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government manages the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). The UKSPF is based on three investment priorities which are Communities and place, Supporting local business and People and skills.

The following allocation of funding was made to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council in January 2023:

  • Communities and place - £1,498,116
  • Supporting local business - £1,409,663
  • People and skills - £384,000

The funds will be allocated within Staffordshire Moorlands in three main ways:

1. Procurement which must comply with the Council's procurement regulations. Open procurements can be found on current tender opportunities page.

2. Direct spend by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

3. Award of grants through a competitive grant process

The Staffordshire Moorlands UKSPF Investment Plan was submitted in August 2022 as below:

The Rural Fund

The Council received approval of its submission to the Government Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) for £410,353 additional capital spend from the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

The Rural Fund has two objectives to support rural businesses and to support rural communities. Rural England Prosperity Fund can be invested in projects which will boost productivity and create rural job opportunities.
