Anti-bleed kit awareness training for local businesses

Businesses across the Moorlands have taken part in anti-bleed kit awareness training to help build confidence amongst first-aiders who may have respond to casualties suffering blood loss.
The training, organised by the District Council, aimed to offer support to anyone who might have to deal with a catastrophic bleed by showing them how to use the contents of the kit to help control the bleeding until professional medical help arrives.
Over 30 local businesses, including those in busy town centres where accidents or altercations could take place and those on main roads where accidents have occurred, took part in the session at Moorlands House in Leek.
Councillor Bill Cawley, Cabinet member for Communities, said: "It's great to see so many of our local businesses getting involved in this training which could make all the difference to patients suffering a catastrophic bleed.
"I hope it gave everyone who attended the confidence to be able to respond if they are first on the scene and I thank all those who took part in what could prove to be life-saving training."
All participating businesses were given a bleed kit from the Daniel Baird Foundation to have on their premises ready for use should the need arise.
