Glebeville play area officially opened

Glebeville residents, who played a key role in the design of their new play area, have taken part in the official opening of the local amenity.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has invested £72,500 to transform the space into a fun, engaging and challenging play area which will have a big impact on play and recreation for children in the local community.

Council Leader, Councillor Mike Gledhill, joined local residents to celebrate the official opening and their role in delivering it.

He said: "We truly value high quality play areas and spaces, like this one in Glebeville, where families and friends can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and stay active.

"That's why the Council is investing in play spaces like this across the Moorlands which make it easier for communities to move more and play more and to lead happier, healthier lives.

"I also want to pay tribute to the local residents in Glebeville for the valuable role they have played in shaping this play area into something that reflects their needs. You've done a fantastic job of making sure this space is just right for your children - and all that remains is for you all to enjoy this space for many years to come!"
