Information on burials, memorials and grave records
AES Ltd intends to carry out a safety survey of the memorials in the following burial grounds.
St Chads Church, Bagnall; Buxton Road Cemetery, Leek; Christ Church, Tean; Holy Trinity, Oakamoor; Leek Cemetery; St Annes Church, Brown Edge; St Edwards, Leek; St Edwards Church, Cheddleton; St Giles Church, Cheadle; St Johns Church, Cotton; St Leanards, Ipstones; St Lukes, Leek; St Lukes, Onecote; St Margarets, Draycott; St Mary and St Lawrences, Cauldon; St Peters Church, Blyth Bridge; St Peters Church, Caverswall; St Werberghs, Kingsley.
Any memorials found to be unstable will be temporarily secured with a memorial support or will be cordoned off; a structural engineer will assess older, larger memorials. If a memorial is found to be unstable the memorial owner may choose to pay for repairs by an approved memorial mason. In default AES Ltd may lower it into the ground or seek authority to lay it flat. Kerb sets maybe buried so that only the top is visible or placed within the grave area.
