Made Neighbourhood Plan
Following a positive referendum result, under Section 38A (4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (under delegated powers on 15th May 2024) resolved to make the Checkley Neighbourhood Plan.
Checkley Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
A copy of the Decision Statement which sets out the reasons why the plan was made is provided below. Paper copies of the Decision Statement, and Neighbourhood Plan may be viewed at the locations below (all during normal opening hours):

- Great Wood Hall, Hollington Road, Upper Tean, ST10 4JY
- Checkley Community Centre, Uttoxeter Road, Checkley, ST10 4NB

Referendum
On the 28th February 2024, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council agreed to send the Checkley Parish neighbourhood Plan to Referendum. Checkley Neighbourhood Plan Referendum was held on 2 May 2024. A majority of those who voted agreed that Staffordshire Moorlands District Council should use the Neighbourhood Plan for Checkley to help them decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area.
