Made Neighbourhood Plan and Neighbourhood Development Order

Following a positive referendum result, under Section 38A (4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (under delegated powers on 31st January 2024) resolved to make the Biddulph Neighbourhood Plan and Biddulph Neighbourhood Development Order (NDO).

Both documents now form part of the Development Plan for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.

A copy of the Decision Statement which sets out the reasons why the plan and NDO were made is provided below along with a copy of the made Neighbourhood Plan and the made NDO.  Paper copies of the Decision Statement, Neighbourhood Plan and NDO may be viewed at Biddulph Town Hall, High Street, Biddulph, ST8 6AR (during normal opening hours).

Referendum

On the 8th August 2023, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council agreed to send the Biddulph Neighbourhood Development Order to Referendum.  On 18th October 2023, following additional modifications consultation, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council agreed to send the Biddulph Neighbourhood Plan to Referendum.

The Biddulph Neighbourhood Plan Referendum was held on 7th December 2023.  A majority of those who voted agreed that Staffordshire Moorlands District Council should use the Neighbourhood Plan for Biddulph to help them decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area.  A majority of those who voted also agreed that they want the type of development in the Neighbourhood Development Order for Biddulph to have planning permission.  More details about the referendum can be found by following the link below.
